Orkney beat Shetland 3-2

A jubilant Orkney

To lift the Milne Cup

Orkney beat Shetland for the first time in four years yesterday to win the Milne Cup. After a dour first half ended goalless, Shetland opened the scoring early after the break. Orkney weren't behind for long, as they hit back through Chris Hellewell, and took the lead moments later when Thorfinn Stout fired in a shot from 25 yards.

Substitute Chris Simpson put the home side firmly in control when he headed in the third from an Axel Bondoux delivery, and although Shetland scored with five minutes to go, Orkney held on to give new manager Karl Adamson a win in his first Milne Cup.
